Construction Director

Role Description The Construction Director at Mar Rio Indústria e Comércio will oversee construction planning, execution, and delivery across multiple projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This part-time remote role includes coordinating with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to align project timelines, budgets, and resources. The Construction Director will review and approve project designs, construction methodologies, and schedules, while monitoring progress and resolving issues that may impact scope, cost, or deadlines. Responsibilities also include setting performance expectations, providing guidance to project managers and engineers, and preparing periodic reports for senior leadership on project status, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Budgeting and Cost Management skills to plan, control, and optimize project financial performance.
Candidates should possess solid Procurement skills to manage vendor selection, contract negotiation, and materials sourcing.
Candidates should possess comprehensive Construction skills to oversee site activities, quality assurance, and adherence to safety standards.
Candidates should possess robust Civil Engineering skills to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and structural requirements.
Relevant experience in leading multiple construction projects, preferably in an industrial or commercial environment.
Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, with strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
Proficiency with project management tools and familiarity with local building codes and regulatory requirements.
