Senior API And Database Developer

1. POSITION SUMMARY
The SQL & API Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust database solutions, stored procedures, GraphQL & RESTful APIs, and microservices that support the organization's core technology infrastructure. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance, scalable, and reliable systems.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Development
● Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries for business and reporting needs
● Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions in MS SQL & PostgreSQL
● Ensure data integrity, security, and consistency across all database environments
● Perform indexing, query tuning, and regular performance optimization
API Development
● Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless data exchange between applications
● Build and manage GraphQL APIs — schemas, resolvers, mutations, and queries
● Ensure APIs are properly authenticated, versioned, and well-documented
● Integrate APIs with third-party systems and internal microservices
Microservices
● Develop and maintain microservices architecture for scalable application components
● Ensure loose coupling, high cohesion, and independent deployability of services
● Collaborate with DevOps and architecture teams on service integration and deployment
Data Management
● Support ETL processes, data migration, and integration across heterogeneous systems
● Monitor and resolve data quality and pipeline issues proactively
Collaboration
● Work closely with product managers, solution architects, and QA teams
● Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
● Maintain clear technical documentation for all solutions delivered
3. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills
● MS SQL — T-SQL, query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, triggers
● PostgreSQL — Advanced querying, JSONB, CTEs, partitioning
● SQL Queries — Complex joins, window functions, performance tuning
● Stored Procedures — Writing, debugging, and optimizing
● REST API — Development, authentication, versioning, documentation
● GraphQL — Schema design, resolvers, mutations
● Microservices — Design, development, and integration
Educational Qualification
● B.Tech (Computer Science / IT or related discipline)
● MCA (Master of Computer Applications)
Experience
● 3–5 years of hands-on professional experience in database and API development
4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience with cloud platforms — AWS / Azure / GCP
● Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization tools
● Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
● Experience in Agile / Scrum environments
