Role Description The MS SQL Database Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining MS SQL Server databases that support HiddenTalent’s platform and analytics. In this role, the Database Engineer will create and optimize database schemas, stored procedures, and queries to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability. The role includes managing backup and recovery strategies, monitoring database health, and implementing security and compliance best practices. The Database Engineer will collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to support application features, reporting, and integrations, including building and maintaining ETL processes for data pipelines. This position also involves troubleshooting data issues, tuning performance, and contributing to continuous improvement of database standards and documentation.
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Manage database objects including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and functions.
Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans.
Configure and support SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.
Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
Conduct disaster recovery testing and documentation.
Ensure business continuity through high-availability solutions.
Perform database auditing and compliance reviews.
Ensure data protection and regulatory compliance requirements are met.
Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
Provide Level 2/Level 3 support for database-related incidents.
Support project delivery and system enhancements.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Experience
· Minimum 3-7+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Strong knowledge of:
SQL Server 2016/2019/2022
T-SQL programming
SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
Always On Availability Groups
Backup and Recovery
Performance Tuning and Optimization
Database Security and Auditing
Experience with database migration and upgrade projects.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred
Microsoft SQL Server certifications.
Experience with:
