About the Opportunity:
The EQUITY ADMINISTRATOR role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the equity administration process from grant approval through to final transactions. This position works cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, People, payroll, and leadership teams to maintain smooth operations of the equity program as the organization grows. The role focuses on delivering clear, dependable equity information to employees and stakeholders, improving processes, and proactively resolving issues to support trust in the equity program.
Responsibilities:
Maintain cap table and equity award records in Carta, including grants, vesting, exercises, cancellations, and employee departures
Coordinate grant approvals, documentation, and transaction workflows with relevant internal teams and leadership
Reconcile Carta records with approved grants, payroll, and accounting data; investigate and resolve discrepancies
Support equity-related reporting, audits, valuations, board materials, and other company needs
Respond to employee questions about equity awards and transactions with clarity and discretion
Develop and maintain procedures, controls, and process improvements as the equity program expands
Utilize AI tools to enhance efficiency in drafting, research, and record review while safeguarding confidential information
Requirements:
Hands-on experience administering equity programs in Carta, including award management and cap table accuracy
Understanding of stock options, equity awards, employee lifecycle events, and reporting for private companies
Experience reconciling equity records with payroll, accounting, and approved transactions and resolving discrepancies
Exceptional attention to detail and discretion with sensitive financial, legal, and employee information
Ability to clearly explain complex equity topics to employees and partners unfamiliar with equity programs
Proven effectiveness working across Legal, Finance, People, payroll, and leadership teams
Competence in using AI tools judiciously to improve work speed and clarity while protecting sensitive data
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
$145,000-$160,000 base plus bonus and equity
