Role Description The Resident Disc Jockey is a part-time, on-site role based at Oraka – Kitchen & Bar in Udaipur. The DJ will curate and perform live sets that align with Oraka’s ambiance, adapting music selections to different times of the evening and guest profiles. Responsibilities include preparing playlists, mixing tracks, managing sound levels, and coordinating with the bar and kitchen teams to sync music with service flow and special events. The DJ will support themed nights, private gatherings, and curated experiences, and may occasionally act as an emcee for announcements or guest engagement. The role involves setting up and testing equipment before service, maintaining a professional appearance on the console, and contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Qualifications
Strong DJing and live Music performance skills, with the ability to read the crowd and adapt sets in real time.
Experience as an event DJ, with familiarity in tailoring music to diverse occasions and audiences.
Sound management skills, including handling mixers, speakers, and troubleshooting of audio equipment, cables, consoles etc
.
Ability and confidence to act as an Emcee when needed, making clear and engaging announcements.
Previous experience performing in bars, lounges, clubs, or hospitality venues preferred.
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working evening and weekend shifts on-site in Udaipur.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with service, bar, and events teams.
Knowledge of multiple music genres and trends, with a focus on creating elevated yet energetic atmospheres.
