Position Summary
The Associate II, Equipment Operations, safely and efficiently operates powered industrial equipment and warehouse machinery to support receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping operations in a fast-paced distribution center. This experienced operator moves, loads, unloads, stacks, and stages products while maintaining accurate inventory transactions and meeting productivity, quality, safety, and customer requirements. The role works with moderate supervision and performs both routine and non-routine material handling tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate authorized forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial equipment.
Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers accurately and efficiently.
Move, stack, stage, replenish, and transport products and materials throughout the facility.
Support receiving, shipping, inventory control, replenishment, and order fulfillment activities.
Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and required safety checklists; promptly report equipment concerns.
Record inventory transactions and material movements accurately using RF scanners, warehouse systems, or other required tools.
Identify and report inventory discrepancies, product damage, safety hazards, and process issues.
Follow OSHA requirements and all company safety, quality, security, and operating procedures.
Protect product integrity and customer inventory through proper handling and storage practices.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and meet established housekeeping standards.
Support the onboarding and training of new team members as needed.
Meet productivity, accuracy, quality, attendance, and safety expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
1+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, manufacturing, material handling, or powered equipment operation.
Experience operating powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, or pallet jacks.
Ability to obtain and maintain required forklift or powered industrial truck certification.
Working knowledge of warehouse safety procedures, material handling practices, and inventory movement.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory or warehouse management systems.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate records.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently with moderate supervision, and collaborate effectively with team members.
Commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of distribution center, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or material handling experience.
Current certification on multiple types of powered industrial equipment.
Experience using RF scanners, barcode systems, inventory systems, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
Experience operating material handling equipment in a high-volume, fast-paced distribution environment.
Experience identifying inventory discrepancies and supporting cycle counts, replenishment, or inventory control activities.
Experience assisting with the training or onboarding of new warehouse team members.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Regularly stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and lift while performing warehouse duties.
Lift, carry, push, pull, and move products in accordance with job and site requirements.
Operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and activity levels.
Use required personal protective equipment and follow all site safety requirements.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $36,600.00 - $54,900.00 per year.
The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
