Tube Laser Operator – 1st Shift
Location: Rochester, NY
Pay: $21–$27/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift | Full-Time
Work Setting: Onsite
About the Opportunity
A well-established, third-generation family-owned precision manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Tube Laser Operator to join its Rochester-area team.
This is a hands-on position for someone who understands that successful laser operation goes beyond simply loading material and pushing a button. You’ll be responsible for machine setup, first-piece production, inspection approval, and running production while maintaining quality and efficiency.
The company operates a highly integrated manufacturing environment serving industries such as medical, automotive, telecommunications, electronics, transportation, and other specialized markets.
What You’ll Do
Operate tube laser equipment in a production environment.
Set up machines and prepare jobs for production.
Complete first-piece setups and obtain inspection approval.
Run production according to job requirements and specifications.
Work closely with the CNC programming team, which provides machine programs.
Adjust between setup and production responsibilities depending on the job.
Maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
Help train new associates once fully established in the role.
What We’re Looking For
Previous tube laser operating experience.
Strong setup and first-piece experience.
Experience working in precision manufacturing, sheet metal, or a similar production environment.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Reliable and consistent work history.
Willingness to work overtime or occasional weekends based on business needs.
A Plus
BLM tube laser experience
Flat laser experience
Plex experience
Additional precision sheet metal fabrication experience
No programming experience is required. Machine programming is handled separately, allowing the operator to focus on setup, first-piece approval, and production.
Compensation & Benefits
$21–$27/hour
