Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement process and ensuring cost-effective, timely acquisition of goods and services. This role includes identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, and maintaining positive vendor relationships. The Purchasing Manager will develop and implement purchasing strategies, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and align procurement with business needs. Day-to-day tasks also involve analyzing purchasing data, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, and continuously improving procurement processes. The role requires proactive communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple purchasing activities in a remote setting.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment.
Strong skills in vendor sourcing, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation to secure favorable terms and reliable supply.
Ability to manage budgets, analyze cost structures, and use data to inform purchasing decisions and optimize spend.
Proficiency with procurement or ERP software, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with remote teams and external partners.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Understanding of basic regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards related to purchasing and vendor management.
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working with micro, small, and medium enterprises or in business development consulting is an advantage.
