Role Description The Service Engineer role at Woodtech Consultants is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The Service Engineer will perform installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of wood processing machinery and equipment at client locations and within the facility. Responsibilities include diagnosing technical issues, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems, and providing field service and technical support to ensure minimal downtime for customers. The role involves preparing service reports, coordinating with internal teams for spare parts and consumables, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The Service Engineer will also support operator training, communicate clearly with clients on service activities and recommendations, and contribute to continuous improvement of service processes.
Qualifications
Strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues on wood processing machinery.
Hands-on Field Service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and customer support in industrial environments.
Effective Communication abilities to interact with clients, operators, and internal teams, and to prepare clear service documentation.
Proven Technical Support capabilities, including remote and on-site guidance, problem resolution, and follow-up actions.
Maintenance & Repair proficiency in scheduled preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and equipment performance optimization.
Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Familiarity with industrial safety practices and basic understanding of PLCs, drives, and automation systems is an advantage.
Ability to travel to customer sites, manage time effectively, and work both independently and within a team.
Prior experience in the wood, manufacturing, or capital equipment industry is preferred.
