The Senior Information Technology (IT) Engineer role provides onsite technical support across hardware, software, networks, business applications and information technology security. The position plays a key part in maintaining reliable day-to-day operations by resolving incidents, managing technology assets and supporting essential systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Provide first-level and second-level information technology support to employees for hardware, software, network and system-related issues
Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and other information technology equipment
Manage and maintain local area networks, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, switches, routers and other network devices
Create and manage user and email accounts, access rights and system permissions
Monitor information technology systems, network performance and connectivity to support uninterrupted operations
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers regarding hardware, software, annual maintenance contracts and technical support
Maintain accurate asset records covering computers, laptops, networking equipment, software licences and other information technology assets
Ensure important data is backed up regularly and support data recovery activities when required
Implement and maintain antivirus software, endpoint security and other information technology security measures
Troubleshoot operating systems, Microsoft Office, email, printers and business applications
Support the implementation and maintenance of enterprise resource planning, human resources management and other business applications
Maintain documentation covering information technology processes, configurations, incidents and resolutions
Ensure compliance with company information technology policies, security standards and access control procedures
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
2–4 years of relevant professional experience
Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop troubleshooting, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and information technology hardware support
Understanding of local area networks, Wi-Fi, basic network administration and user account management
Knowledge of information technology security, data backups, asset management and incident resolution
Experience supporting enterprise resource planning, human resources management or other business applications
Ability to maintain accurate technical and incident documentation
