Role Description The Agency Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The role involves identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new insurance agents, while nurturing and expanding the existing agency network. The Agency Development Manager will guide agents on product offerings, sales processes, and compliance requirements, and will regularly conduct training sessions to build skills and improve performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting sales targets, monitoring achievement against goals, analyzing performance reports, and implementing strategies to drive growth across protection, savings, retirement, child education, and health insurance segments. The role also requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to support marketing initiatives, ensure high-quality customer service, and uphold regulatory and company standards.
Qualifications
Strong sales, business development, and relationship management abilities, with experience in building and leading a high-performing agency or distribution network.
Knowledge of life insurance products and financial planning concepts, preferably across protection, savings, retirement, child education, and health segments.
Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to train, coach, and motivate agents to achieve defined goals.
Proficiency in basic analytics and reporting, including interpreting sales data, tracking performance metrics, and using CRM or similar tools.
Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities on-site.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Prior experience in life insurance, financial services, or agency/channel management is strongly preferred.
