About the Opportunity:
The MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST role is designed to support revenue cycle operations by managing billing issues and resolving claim denials for assigned clients. This position is responsible for overseeing the billing cycle to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of financial matters, thereby contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of the healthcare facilities served.
Responsibilities:
Resolve billing issues and claim denials requiring clinical expertise.
Manage all aspects of the billing cycle for assigned clients, including charges, payments, and accounts receivable metrics.
Meet deadlines for customer and company requirements.
Develop processes and procedures for assigned accounts.
Monitor industry trends affecting billing and revenue.
Communicate trends and resolutions to clients regularly.
Collaborate with departments to ensure billing accuracy and efficiency.
Deliver reports on issues like payer denial trends and inaccurate charges.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Support additional projects as assigned by operations leadership.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in medical accounts receivable.
Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding.
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and medical billing software.
Understanding of full cycle revenue models and industry audit practices.
Ability to interpret medical records and related documentation.
Strong technical skills with PM/EHR software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to identify and resolve workflow trends.
Preferred experience with Athena, behavioral health, and EPIC systems.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Pay range: $18 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.
Final compensation based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
