Turner & Townsend’s Digital Advisory business is growing and building capability to meet our 2030 Strategy. We are seeking an experienced Digital Advisory Consultant with a focus on data strategy and a track record of delivering advisory services within asset-intensive industries, the built environment, energy and natural resources, or defence. Knowledge of data governance, data operating models, data architecture and data platforms is desirable.
Service delivery excellence: Delivering data strategy, digital strategy and insights, technology advisory and transformation management engagements.
Business Generation capability: Contributing to bid writing, proposal development, client presentations and lead generation activities.
People & Operations: Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues and supporting a positive and inclusive team culture.
Service development: Contributing to the development of digital advisory and data strategy propositions, playbooks, methodologies, insights and benchmarking resources.
The team offers a wide range of commissions covering the UK. Candidates would be expected to travel up to 2-3 days per week supporting the delivery of the commissions. As a global business we deliver projects anywhere in the world for our global client base so future flexibility would be advantageous.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will provide digital, data and technology strategy expertise. Additionally, they will support the development of our Digital Strategy, Advisory and Transformation service offering, sharing best-practice knowledge with colleagues and supporting the identification and development of new commercial opportunities.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with an ability to adapt to and embed into different client environments. This includes identifying and engaging key stakeholders and liaising across business departments and groups.
Candidates will be expected to engage with clients and be comfortable leading workshops, assessing opportunities for process improvement, including through process modelling, and applying their understanding of the requirements management lifecycle to support the successful delivery of technical solutions.
Experience of working on Digital Strategy and Transformation projects delivered through Agile and/or Waterfall approaches is required.
Experience of data-enabled transformation is required, including the ability to gather, review and analyse business and industry data, such as KPIs, financial reports and operational metrics, to identify insights and inform strategic recommendations.
Knowledge of PMO and project controls environments is desirable, including an understanding of cost, schedule, risk, change and performance reporting. Familiarity with project and programme management information systems would be advantageous.
An understanding of data and technology capabilities is desirable, including familiarity with data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, and data integration concepts and technologies. Candidates should be comfortable working alongside data and technical teams, eliciting business needs from non-technical stakeholders and translating them into clear requirements and recommendations.
Experience or knowledge of artificial intelligence is desirable, including identifying appropriate AI use cases and understanding the data, technology, governance and organisational considerations required to support successful adoption.
SCOPE
Consultants will work within our Digital Consulting team. They may also operate within wider Turner & Townsend project teams from other business units. In addition, they will interact with clients and other project stakeholders. They will support a wide range of projects of varying sizes and complexity. From time to time, this may include working with consultants from other organisations.
The successful candidate will:
Support the delivery of digital and data transformation programmes across strategic sectors, such as Energy and Natural Resources, Defence, Infrastructure and Government.
Provide advice to clients on data strategy, digital strategy, technology adoption and related transformation priorities.
Contribute to business growth through lead generation, bid writing and proposal development.
Share knowledge and provide support to colleagues, contributing to a culture of excellence and innovation.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of Turner & Townsend’s digital and data advisory service offerings through proposition development and knowledge management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Delivering digital and data advisory engagements as part of a multidisciplinary team, with responsibilities including:
Service Delivery
Deliver data strategy and digital advisory engagements, working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Develop digital and data roadmaps aligned with client objectives.
Produce high-quality deliverables, support effective client relationships and contribute to measurable engagement outcomes.
Business Generation
Support lead generation and help identify new opportunities within target sectors.
Contribute to bid writing, proposal development and client presentations in line with Turner & Townsend best practice.
Build positive client relationships that support repeat business and long-term partnerships.
People & Operations
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the Digital Advisory practice and wider business, sharing knowledge and supporting others where appropriate.
Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Service Development
Contribute to digital and data strategy propositions, methodologies, playbooks and reusable assets.
Maintain and enhance insights and benchmarking databases to support client engagements.
Research emerging data trends and leading practices, helping to refine service offerings in response to evolving client needs.
This role requires good analytical skills and strong numerical capability, with the ability to understand, analyse and present data in different formats. A good level of Microsoft Office capability, or a willingness to develop this capability, is also required.
A degree in an analytical subject is advantageous but not required.
Business Analysis qualifications, such as BCS or IIBA, are desirable. Relevant practical experience will also be considered.
