Job Description
Team Summary
The Client Services team provides industry-leading operational support to Visa’s clients worldwide. Through deep expertise in payments, technology, and operational processes, the team serves as a trusted partner to clients and internal stakeholders, enabling the successful implementation, adoption, and scaling of Visa products and services.
Within Client Services, Client Configuration Management (CCM) enables clients to transact seamlessly across Visa’s global payment network. The team is responsible for the accurate, secure, and scalable configuration of client profiles and payment processing capabilities, ensuring compliance with operational, regulatory, and network requirements while supporting business growth and innovation.
Role Summary
The Configuration Senior Consultant serves as a subject matter expert responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and governance of client configurations across Visa’s payment processing platforms. This role leads and supports complex client initiatives as well as the rollout of new products and services, system enhancements, and process improvements.
The position requires deep expertise in configuration management, payment processing, operational controls, and risk management. Given the significant financial, operational, and reputational impact that configuration changes may have, the Senior Consultant exercises sound judgment, ensures adherence to governance standards, and drives high-quality client outcomes.
The role also contributes to process improvement, operational excellence, talent development, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance productivity and service delivery.
What a Configuration Senior Consultant Does at Visa
· Delivers technical and advisory configuration leadership, ensuring seamless implementation of required changes without customer or processing impact.
· Provides expert consultative support to Clients, Client Services, Risk, Product, and Sales related to configuration.
· Leads the diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex configuration issues, including scenarios where standard procedures are insufficient.
· Exercises sound judgment and decision-making in high-risk or ambiguous situations that may have financial or client impact.
· Maintains strong working knowledge of Visa technologies, products, services, methods, and applications, proactively introducing improved approaches where appropriate.
· Performs final review and approval for complex configuration initiatives.
· Champions process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives, continuously enhancing workflows, quality, and service delivery.
· Mentors, coaches, and trains team members on configuration standards, new products, and emerging capabilities.
· Participates in rotational on-call or emergency support coverage, ensuring business continuity during critical or urgent events.
· Validates accurate billing configuration and setup to protect Visa financials and ensure correct revenue recognition.
· Supports reviews of technical changes impacting CCM, such as the Business Enhancement Release and ensures they are embedded within the team’s practices.
· Proactively mitigates escalations through proactive oversight of the team’s operations.
· Collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and facilitates cross-functional discussions to ensure end-to-end alignment on implementation outcomes.
· Provides senior-level guidance and research support for unique, non-standard, or high-risk client scenarios.
· Builds strong internal and external partnerships through transparent communication, credibility, and trust.

Qualifications
What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent qualification
At least 10 years’ experience with solid understanding of payment systems
Strong capability to comprehend complex technical topics and translate them into practical business solutions. Ability to comprehend and translate complex technical issues and apply to business solutions.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, manage complexity, and deliver under pressure.
A proactive mindset, with willingness to take on new challenges and adapt to changing priorities
Strong collaborative orientation, with a desire to share knowledge and improve standard operating practices.
Excellent communication skills, leadership presence, and relationship management capability
Fluency in English.
Experience using standard MS Office tools (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)
Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills.
Demonstrates strong consultative skills within areas of expertise.
Ability to train and mentor others effectively.
Able to set priorities, influence others, and manage customer expectations.
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to achieve results as part of an effective team, and ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task under deadlines.
Able to remain calm and professional in high stress situations.
