Leasing Consultant — Ithaca, NY

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications, plus leasing incentive eligibility

We believe great communities start with people who care about service, teamwork, and helping residents feel at home. We are looking for an enthusiastic Leasing Consultant to join our Ithaca team. If you enjoy meeting people, building relationships, and helping customers find the right fit, we would love to hear from you.
Have sales or customer service experience? We encourage you to apply! Previous leasing experience is welcome, but it is not required. We love to train motivated people and help them build a career in property management. Experience in retail, hospitality, restaurants, or other customer-facing roles can be a great foundation.
Your Role
As a Leasing Consultant, you will help prospective residents explore our community, guide them through the leasing process, and support current residents. You will combine customer service, sales, and organization to help achieve occupancy and renewal goals.
Responsibilities
Welcome prospective residents and provide a friendly, professional first impression.
Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, online inquiries, and walk-in visitors.
Conduct community and apartment tours, explain features and pricing, and help prospects identify options that meet their needs.
Follow up with prospects and maintain accurate records of leasing activity.
Assist with applications, required documentation, lease preparation, and move-in coordination.
Support renewal outreach and resident retention efforts.
Answer resident questions and coordinate with the appropriate team members to address concerns.
Assist with social media, marketing outreach, and resident events.
Keep the leasing office, model apartments, and tour routes organized and presentable.
Coordinate with maintenance regarding apartment readiness and service requests.
Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and student housing turnover.
Follow Fair Housing requirements, applicable laws, and company leasing procedures.
Work with the team to achieve leasing and service goals.
Qualifications
Sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or leasing experience preferred.
Previous property management experience is not required; training is provided.
Friendly, professional communication skills and a positive attitude.
Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and follow through on commitments.
Strong organization and attention to detail.
Comfortable using computers, email, and learning new software.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Availability to work scheduled weekends and provide additional coverage during peak leasing and turnover periods.
