Vice President, Product & Market Strategy
Location: United States | Full-Time | Remote / Hybrid / On-site
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer / Chief Product Officer
About the Role
We are looking for a Vice President, Product & Market Strategy to lead the development of product strategies, market strategies, competitive positioning, and strategic initiatives that support the organization's long-term growth.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for connecting product direction with market opportunities, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and broader business objectives. The VP, Product & Market Strategy will help determine where the organization should compete, which products and capabilities should be prioritized, and how those offerings can create sustainable business value.
You will work closely with executive leadership and partner across Product, Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Operations, Technology, Finance, and Customer Success. The role will have significant influence over product priorities, market positioning, growth opportunities, customer insights, and strategic planning.
Because the organization is continuing to build and scale, this role will help establish structured processes for evaluating market opportunities, developing product strategies, prioritizing initiatives, and translating strategic direction into coordinated execution.
The ideal candidate combines strong product strategy expertise with market intelligence, commercial judgment, analytical ability, and a deep understanding of customer and competitive dynamics.
Responsibilities
• Lead the overall Product & Market Strategy function, including product strategy, market analysis, competitive positioning, strategic planning, and growth initiatives.
• Develop product and market strategies aligned with organizational objectives, customer needs, competitive conditions, and long-term growth opportunities.
• Evaluate market opportunities, customer segments, industry trends, competitive developments, and emerging business models to identify areas for expansion.
• Translate market insights and customer needs into clear product priorities, strategic recommendations, and business opportunities.
• Partner with Product leadership to define product roadmaps, strategic priorities, product positioning, and investment areas.
• Work closely with Marketing and Sales to develop market positioning, customer segmentation, value propositions, go-to-market strategies, and commercial priorities.
• Collaborate with Business Development to evaluate strategic partnerships, distribution opportunities, market expansion initiatives, and potential commercial relationships.
• Partner with Technology and Operations teams to assess product feasibility, operational requirements, implementation considerations, and scalability.
• Conduct competitive analysis to evaluate competitor products, pricing, positioning, customer strategies, capabilities, and market movements.
• Develop market sizing, opportunity assessments, business cases, scenario analyses, and strategic recommendations for new products and markets.
• Establish structured frameworks for product prioritization, market evaluation, strategic planning, and investment decision-making.
• Monitor product and market performance through appropriate KPIs, dashboards, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and business performance metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing products, develop new offerings, enter new markets, or expand relationships with existing customer segments.
• Work with Finance and executive leadership to evaluate product economics, resource requirements, budgets, revenue opportunities, and expected business outcomes.
• Support executive leadership with strategic analysis and recommendations regarding product direction, market expansion, competitive positioning, and organizational priorities.
• Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives involving Product, Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Technology, Operations, and other business functions.
• Develop executive-level product and market strategy presentations, reports, forecasts, opportunity assessments, and strategic planning materials.
• Monitor changes in customer behavior, market conditions, competitive activity, technology, and industry developments that may affect strategic priorities.
• Establish processes for continuously reviewing product-market fit, customer feedback, market performance, and strategic opportunities.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Product & Market Strategy organization as business requirements expand.
• Maintain a high standard of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, commercial judgment, collaboration, accountability, and execution.
