The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is adding an experienced and highly motivated Topobathymetric LiDAR Program Manager to join our Geomatic Technologies Team. This position can be office-based, hybrid, or fully remote within the United States.
This leadership role combines program management, technical oversight, business development, strategic planning and client engagement. The successful candidate will have experience with topobathymetric LiDAR, remote sensing, geomatics, and surveying, along with demonstrated proficiency in LiDAR classification and the creation of LiDAR-derived products.
The Program Manager will play a key role in growing Tetra Tech's Topobathymetric LiDAR business while ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality geospatial solutions for clients across North America and around the world. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding client relationships, identifying new market opportunities, supporting strategic business growth initiatives, and leading teams responsible for topobathymetric LiDAR acquisition, processing, analysis, and product development.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future direction of Tetra Tech's Topobathymetric LiDAR capabilities and help establish the company as an industry leader in this rapidly growing market.

Essential Job Functions
Program Leadership & Strategic Growth
Lead and grow Tetra Tech's Topobathymetric LiDAR program.
Develop and execute growth strategies that expand market presence, strengthen client relationships, and increase program revenue.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the government, utility, environmental, water resources, coastal, and infrastructure sectors.
Collaborate with leadership to establish long-term business goals, market strategies, and investment priorities.
Support hiring, mentoring, and workforce development initiatives to build a high-performing team.
Business Development & Client Engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and maintain strong, long-term relationships.
Lead proposal efforts, capture planning, project pursuits, and scope development activities.
Participate in client presentations, industry conferences, networking events, and strategic partner meetings.
Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients and develop relationships with prospective clients.
Represent Tetra Tech as a leader in the Topobathymetric LiDAR and geomatics industry .
Program & Project Management
Manage portfolios of topobathymetric LiDAR projects from planning through delivery.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, resource allocation, risks, and performance metrics.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams responsible for data acquisition, processing, analysis, and product development.
Ensure projects meet technical, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
Monitor program performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Leadership
Provide technical oversight for topobathymetric LiDAR acquisition, processing, classification, quality control, and product generation.
Guide development of LiDAR-derived products, including DEMs, bathymetric surfaces, contours, and geospatial datasets.
Drive innovation through the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, workflows, and industry best practices.
Support technical teams in addressing complex project challenges and client requirements.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
Additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Geography, GIS, Engineering, Hydrography, or a related field.
8+ years of relevant experience in LiDAR, remote sensing, geomatics, surveying, or related work
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing complex projects.
Experience working with topobathymetric LiDAR systems and associated data acquisition workflows.
Proven experience with LiDAR classification, quality control, and generation of LiDAR-derived products.
Experience with TerraSolid software and industry-standard geospatial tools
Experience preparing proposals, supporting business development efforts, and managing client relationships.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to balance strategic objectives with project execution and technical oversight.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP certification.
ASPRS, GISP certifications.
Established industry relationships and demonstrated success in developing new business opportunities.
Experience with coastal mapping, hydrographic surveying, floodplain mapping, environmental monitoring, water resources, or utility corridor projects.
PLS/PSM licensure a bonus.

Compensation
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $120,000 - $160,000 annually
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
