Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role
Based in our Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland office, you’ll join PwC New Zealand’s Sustainability Reporting & Assurance team, a specialist team within our broader Assurance practice.
You’ll have the best of both worlds: the connection, scale and opportunities that come from being part of a large Assurance community, while helping champion Sustainability in an area that continues to grow and evolve.
Our Auckland office brings together people from across PwC’s businesses and specialist teams, giving you plenty of opportunity to collaborate, build your network and work alongside people with different perspectives and expertise.
As a Manager, you’ll work with clients as they navigate an increasingly complex sustainability reporting landscape, helping strengthen the credibility, quality and resilience of sustainability-related information.
You’ll lead sustainability reporting and assurance engagements, build trusted client relationships, coach and develop your team, and contribute to the continued growth of our Sustainability capability.
Your day-to-day could include:
Leading sustainability assurance engagements from scoping and planning through to execution, review and reporting
Building trusted relationships with clients and acting as a key day-to-day contact alongside engagement leaders
Coaching and developing engagement teams, including reviewing working papers and deliverables
Supporting clients and teams to navigate sustainability reporting frameworks and requirements, including Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards, Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, IFRS S2, GHG Protocol and PCAF
Managing engagement quality, risk, timelines, resourcing and budgets
Collaborating across Assurance and the wider PwC network, bringing together the right expertise to solve complex client challenges

Strong working knowledge of GHG Protocol, with PCAF and financed emissions knowledge as an advantage
Confidence working through complex and evolving technical matters, using sound judgement to develop pragmatic and defensible solutions
Strong project management capability across scope, timelines, resourcing and quality
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with client stakeholders
Desirable experience includes sustainability assurance standards such as ISAE (NZ) 3000, ISAE (NZ) 3410 and/or ISSA (NZ) 5000, and experience supporting climate reporting requirements or assurance over climate metrics and disclosures.
