Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Python / TypeScript
Location: Remote – USA & Canada

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Golang. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with large codebases, building and maintaining pipelines or infrastructure, and contributing to preference data collection and rubric creation.
Key Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and improve software pipelines and infrastructure using Python or other relevant programming languages.
Navigate, understand, and contribute to large-scale codebases.
Support preference data collection, evaluation workflows, and rubric development.
Apply software engineering best practices to ensure code quality, maintainability, and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technical and evaluation-related initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Python, particularly for building and maintaining pipelines and infrastructure, OR proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Golang.
Hands-on experience with preference data collection and/or rubric creation.
Ability to understand and contribute to complex, large-scale codebases.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience contributing to or navigating large codebases such as Visual Studio Code (VS Code).
Experience developing infrastructure, automation, or data-processing pipelines.
Familiarity with software evaluation workflows and structured assessment criteria.
Work Schedule & Availability
Location: Must be based in the USA or Canada.
Minimum commitment: 20 hours per week.
Daily availability: At least 4 hours per day.
Time-zone requirement: Must be available for a minimum of 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Important Note
Candidates must be able to meet the minimum weekly commitment and required Pacific Time overlap while demonstrating hands-on experience with at least one of the specified programming language tracks and preference data collection and/or rubric creation.
