Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Finance Operations & Shared Services Manager to oversee the performance, controls, and operational effectiveness of an outsourced Finance Shared Services organization.
This is not a traditional transactional Accounting Manager position. Rather than directly processing high-volume AP, AR, reconciliations, and other accounting activity, this individual will govern the third-party organization responsible for executing those processes.
The Finance Operations & Shared Services Manager will serve as the primary liaison between internal Finance leadership and an approximately 20–25 person offshore shared-services team, ensuring performance against SLAs, KPIs, internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies.
Responsibilities
Provide operational governance of an outsourced/offshore Finance Shared Services organization
Serve as the primary relationship manager with third-party/BPO leadership
Oversee service delivery across AP, AR, cash application, reconciliations, journal entries, master data, expense reporting, payroll support, fixed assets, and month-end close support
Develop, monitor, and report on SLAs and operational KPIs
Create executive scorecards covering cycle times, first-pass yield, aging, exceptions, reconciliation completion, close performance, and service quality
Lead corrective action plans when service levels or quality expectations are not achieved
Monitor offshore staffing, capacity, productivity, and service delivery
Own onshore monitoring controls over outsourced finance activities
Ensure compliance with SOX, segregation of duties, maker/checker requirements, and internal controls
Support internal/external audits, SOX testing, and remediation
Lead transitions of additional finance processes into shared services
Develop standardized procedures and scalable best practices
Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual processes
Partner with ERP/technology teams to optimize workflows, approvals, integrations, and reporting
Lead and develop a FinOps/Controls Analyst
Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Internal Audit, IT, Procurement, HR, and Legal
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
8–12+ years of progressive Finance/Accounting Operations experience
Direct experience managing or governing offshore/outsourced Finance Shared Services required
Experience working with third-party BPO providers strongly preferred
Public-company/SEC reporting environment experience
Strong knowledge of SOX and internal controls
Broad understanding of transactional finance processes including AP, AR, cash application, reconciliations, master data, and close
Experience establishing and managing SLAs and operational KPIs
Demonstrated process-improvement and automation experience
Strong ERP background; NetSuite/NetSuite OneWorld preferred
BlackLine, FloQast, Coupa, or similar systems experience preferred
CPA and/or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
Experience within renewable energy, solar, construction, or similarly complex industries a plus
