Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Node.js, backend development, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based applications. Experience working with Agentic AI, Generative AI, or AI-powered applications is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
· Build high-performance RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services.
· Develop and integrate AI-powered capabilities and intelligent workflows where applicable.
· Collaborate with AI/ML engineers and application developers to integrate LLMs, AI agents, and AI services into production applications.
· Develop APIs and services that support AI agents, tool calling, workflow orchestration, and automated decision-making.
· Integrate third-party APIs, cloud services, databases, and enterprise applications.
· Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available backend architectures.
· Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
· Work with relational and NoSQL databases and develop efficient data-access layers.
· Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
· Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, architecture decisions, and Agile ceremonies.
· Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and resolution.
· Collaborate with teams across India and the US while working US shift timings.
Required Skills & Experience
· 9+ years of professional software development experience.
· Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
· Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
· Extensive experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
· Strong understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems.
· Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
· Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
· Strong experience with Git and modern software development practices.
· Experience with API security, authentication, authorization, and integration patterns.
· Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
· Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred – Agentic AI / Generative AI Experience
Experience with Agentic AI or Generative AI is highly preferred. Candidates with hands-on experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
· Development of AI Agents / Agentic AI applications.
· Integration of LLMs such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or similar models.
· Experience with LLM APIs and SDKs.
· AI agent frameworks and orchestration tools.
· Tool/function calling and structured outputs.
· AI workflow orchestration and multi-agent architectures.
· RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) applications.
· Vector databases and semantic search.
· Prompt engineering and LLM application development.
· Building APIs and backend services for AI-powered applications.
· Experience integrating AI capabilities into existing enterprise applications.
Nice-to-Have Skills
· TypeScript expertise.
· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
· Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
· Experience with serverless architectures.
· Familiarity with cloud-native application development.
· Experience with automated testing frameworks.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
