We're a Coimbatore-based robotics and industrial automation company helping metal and textile manufacturers automate their factory floors with practical, cost-effective robotic solutions.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲
We're looking for an Application Engineer to be the technical bridge between our robot platforms and the real-world problems our customers need solved, across machine shops, foundries, garment factories, and fabric processing units in Tamil Nadu.
This is a hands-on engineering role, not a desk job. You'll solve problems like setting up a 6-axis arm to safely tend a CNC lathe, getting a palletizing robot to handle 15 kg cartons at 800+ picks per hour, and building a gripper that holds a fabric roll without damaging it.
𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵
▸ 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: CNC machine-tending cells, material handling, and palletizing for machined components such as pump housings, motor casings, and auto parts.
▸ 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Assessing where robots can be safely deployed in dust, heat, or moisture, and working with manufacturers on protected configurations where needed.
▸ 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲 & 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: End-of-line carton palletizing, fabric roll handling for dyeing, compacting, and finishing, and yarn and bale handling.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
1. Visit customer factories, including foundries, to study manual handling processes and design suitable robotic automation solutions.
2. Assess whether each customer application is technically feasible, covering payload, reach, and cycle time.
3. Design and select end-effectors (grippers and tooling) for each customer's specific product and process.
4. Coordinate with tooling vendors to source end-effectors.
5. Program, commission, and support robot arms for customer applications.
6. Lead installation, testing, and handover of robot cells at customer sites.
7. Train customer operators after handover.
8. Serve as the main technical point of contact between customers and our robot manufacturing partners.
9. Work with manufacturing partners on day-to-day technical queries for deployed systems.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve issues on installed systems to keep them running smoothly.
11. Prepare and maintain application documentation, including process sheets, cycle time calculations, cell layout drawings, and commissioning reports.
12. Travel regularly to customer sites, factories, and foundries for assessments, installation, commissioning, and support. Some trips may require overnight or multi-day stays, and we'll give reasonable advance notice.
13. Take on other duties that fit the role as the business grows.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿
𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱:
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics & Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Hands-on experience programming or commissioning industrial robots (any brand: FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Estun, JAKA, or similar)
- Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar) for gripper and fixture design
- Comfort working directly with customers on factory floors
- Willingness to travel regularly within Tamil Nadu, mainly across Coimbatore and Tirupur
- Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to tackle applications with no established precedent
𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲:
- Experience with palletizing, machine tending, or material handling robot cells
- PLC/controls integration experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Delta, or similar)
- Understanding of metal processes (CNC machining, foundry, fabrication) or textile processes (dyeing, compacting, garmenting)
- Vision system integration experience
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Good teamwork across technical and customer-facing teams
