About The Role
We are seeking two dedicated Anwendungsentwicklerinnen / Anwendungsentwickler für Python (DevOps) (m/w/d) to join our IT department at our Bonn location. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our customer portals, which serve as vital channels for online services provided by BGHW. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing Python-based web applications, ensuring the stability and performance of these applications in a DevOps environment, and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of our digital infrastructure. You will translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, develop monitoring tools for applications and interfaces, and facilitate seamless integration with internal and external systems. Additionally, you will work on developing data models and AI-supported applications that optimize business processes and enhance user experience. Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely within a Scrum team and across departments, bringing your ideas to life and actively participating in the expansion of our DevOps culture. Qualifications
A university degree (Bachelor or Diplom) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
Proficiency in Python, with experience in both application development and automation of operational processes.
Strong commitment to code quality, maintainability, and testability, with a focus on Clean Code principles.
Knowledge of modern DevOps methodologies and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Linux environments, version control systems (Git), code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube), relational databases (such as PostgreSQL), and development of REST/SOAP interfaces.
Ability to work independently, with a structured approach to tasks, and enthusiasm for solving complex challenges collaboratively.
Ideally, experience as a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer within an agile work environment.
Excellent communication skills in German, both spoken and written (minimum C1 level).
Willingness to undertake occasional business trips as required.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Python-based web applications that serve our customer portals and online services.
Ensure the reliable operation of applications within a DevOps framework by managing deployments, monitoring system health, and implementing performance improvements.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop scalable, secure solutions.
Develop and operate monitoring tools for applications and interfaces, perform incident analysis, and implement sustainable fixes to minimize downtime.
Develop and maintain interfaces for internal and external systems to ensure reliable data exchange and system integration.
Create structured data models and technical foundations for AI-supported applications, automation processes, and data-driven decision-making.
Actively participate in agile development cycles within a Scrum team, contributing ideas for technical enhancements and supporting the continuous development of our DevOps culture.
Collaborate across departments and with external partners to deliver innovative digital solutions aligned with organizational goals.
