About The Role
As an Application Engineer (m/w/d) at SEG Electronics, you will play a crucial role in the development and validation of application functions for our multifunctional protection devices. Your responsibilities will span from technical conception to practical application, ensuring that our solutions meet customer requirements and adhere to relevant standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, sales support, and external partners, to deliver innovative and reliable protection solutions. The role offers a unique opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, contribute to product enhancements, and support the deployment of advanced energy protection systems. This position is based in Kempen, Germany, and is offered as a full-time, permanent role starting immediately.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in electrical engineering or a comparable field, complemented by several years of professional experience in application development for protection devices. You should have comprehensive knowledge of protection technology, relevant standards, and guidelines, along with practical experience using simulation tools and laboratory equipment. Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and a structured approach to work are essential. Proficiency in both German and English, along with strong communication skills, will enable you to effectively present complex technical topics and collaborate within diverse teams. A self-reliant, organized, and reliable work ethic is crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Design and develop application functions based on customer requirements and industry standards.
Evaluate and validate functions through calculations, simulations, and laboratory tests to ensure performance and compliance.
Process and provide measurement data as input parameters for application functions.
Create and execute developer tests, including technical specifications and detailed requirements documentation.
Verify conformance to relevant standards and participate in certification processes.
Assist the Verification & Validation (V&V) team by preparing test plans and technical documentation.
Address technical customer inquiries and analyze customer-side fault cases to facilitate effective solutions.
Collaborate closely with software and hardware development teams to ensure seamless integration of application functions.
Develop application notes, technical manuals, and detailed reports to support product deployment and customer understanding.
