Software Engineer in Test

Role Description The Software Engineer in Test role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bangalore District. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites to ensure the reliability and performance of software systems used in manufacturing and enterprise operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with development teams to understand requirements, creating test plans and test cases, implementing automated tests for back-end services and APIs, and performing regression, integration, and performance testing. The role also involves analyzing defects, identifying root causes, recommending improvements, and contributing to continuous integration and delivery pipelines. The Software Engineer in Test is expected to document test results clearly, participate in code reviews related to test code, and help drive best practices in software quality across the organization.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled SDET – Backend Testing Engineer with experience in API automation and backend testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of backend services through automated testing and continuous integration practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automated test scripts for backend applications.
Perform API testing and validate REST services.
Execute test cases, identify defects, and support issue resolution.
Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with development and product teams in an Agile environment.
Required Skills
Strong experience in Java, REST Assured, TestNG/JUnit, Postman, SQL, REST APIs, JSON/XML, AWS, Jenkins, Git, Jira, Agile methodologies, Selenium, and CI/CD pipelines.
Good to Have
Microservices, Kafka, Docker, Swagger/OpenAPI, and JMeter.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2–6 years of experience in Backend Testing / SDET roles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
