Role Description The Senior Fashion Designer will work on-site in Thrissur in a full-time capacity, leading the design and development of collections from concept to final fitting. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trends, creating design sketches, selecting fabrics and embellishments, overseeing embroidery and textile detailing, and ensuring high-quality garment construction and fit. The role involves collaborating with pattern makers, tailors, and other team members, conducting fittings and adjustments, and maintaining consistent brand aesthetics across all designs. The Senior Fashion Designer will also guide junior designers, support client consultations, and contribute to production planning and timelines.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Fashion Design and Fashion, with a proven ability to develop original concepts and cohesive collections.
Hands-on expertise in Embroidery and Textiles, including selection, application, and coordination of materials and embellishments.
Proficiency in Fitting, with experience conducting garment trials, adjustments, and quality checks to ensure optimal fit and finish.
Ability to use design tools (manual sketching and digital design software) and familiarity with garment construction processes.
Relevant education in Fashion Design or a related field, and several years of experience in designer or couture environments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead design discussions and mentor junior team members.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a studio or couture setting.
Knowledge of current fashion trends, fabrics, and embellishment techniques; experience with client-facing bespoke work is an advantage.
