Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: LATAM — 100% Remote
Work Schedule: Full-time, with overlap with U.S. business hours
Role Summary
BiggerPockets is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage daily accounting operations and progressively take ownership of month-end close preparation. Reporting to the Controller, you’ll support accurate financial reporting and improve processes across multiple entities and revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the billing inbox, vendor invoices, payments, and customer billing.
Set up billing and revenue recognition for advertising contracts.
Perform daily cash and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries covering revenue recognition, accruals, prepaids, payroll allocations, and depreciation.
Support a four-day monthly close and implement mid-month accounting activities.
Maintain supporting schedules, assist with audits, and identify opportunities for automation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition, and month-end close.
Broad accounting experience across multiple functions.
Strong Excel skills and experience with an accounting ERP.
Strong English communication, attention to detail, and ownership.
Comfortable asking questions, flagging issues, and improving processes.
Nice to Haves
Hands-on NetSuite experience.
Experience in multi-entity environments.
Background in subscriptions, memberships, media, or advertising.
Experience using AI tools, such as Claude, to improve accounting workflows.
Experience supporting a small U.S. finance team.
