Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the organization’s overall financial strategy, health, and compliance. The CFO will manage financial planning and budgeting processes, monitor cash flow, and provide guidance on long-term financial decisions. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing financial statements, preparing and presenting financial reports to leadership, and ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards and regulations. The CFO will collaborate with executive stakeholders on strategic initiatives, assess financial risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to optimize profitability and sustainability. This role also involves improving financial processes, implementing controls, and supporting fundraising, investment, or lending activities as needed.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Finance with demonstrated experience in senior financial leadership and corporate financial management.
Proficiency in Financial Planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
Ability to interpret and manage Financial Statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency.
Experience in Financial Reporting, including preparation of internal management reports and external regulatory or stakeholder reports.
Advanced Analytical Skills to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Proven track record in process improvement, internal controls, and risk management.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPA, CFA) preferred.
Comfort working independently in a remote environment and collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
