Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Building Materials Salesperson role based in Kolkata. The salesperson will assist walk-in customers, understand their project requirements, and recommend appropriate building materials and paint products. Daily tasks include explaining product features and pricing, preparing quotations, processing orders and payments, and coordinating with inventory staff to ensure stock availability. The role also involves handling phone inquiries, following up with prospective and existing customers, and maintaining organized product displays. The salesperson is expected to provide consistent, courteous service, meet sales targets, and support general store operations as needed.
Qualifications
Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Communication abilities.
Sales skills with the capacity to identify customer needs, present solutions, and close deals.
Professional Phone Etiquette for handling inquiries and follow-ups over calls.
Basic product knowledge or willingness to learn about Paint and other building materials.
Previous experience in retail, hardware, building materials, or paint sales is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, stand for extended periods, and manage a busy store environment.
Basic math and computer skills for billing, quotations, and inventory coordination.
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or sales training is beneficial.
