Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Blockchain Security Architect to design, implement, and govern secure enterprise blockchain infrastructure within a highly regulated financial services environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in blockchain architecture, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), blockchain node security, cryptographic key management, AWS/Azure cloud security, and enterprise security frameworks.
This role will be responsible for defining the blockchain security architecture, establishing infrastructure hardening standards, protecting cryptographic assets, and ensuring compliance with enterprise security and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Blockchain Architecture & Security
Design secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise blockchain infrastructure and DLT platforms.
Define blockchain node architecture, network topology, node placement, segmentation, and access controls.
Establish security controls for blockchain nodes, validators, RPC endpoints, APIs, and administrative interfaces.
Design secure blockchain communication, certificate management, and authentication mechanisms.
Review blockchain architecture for vulnerabilities, security risks, and operational resilience.
Cryptography & Key Management
Design secure cryptographic key management solutions using Hardware Security Modules (HSM), AWS KMS, and Azure Key Vault.
Establish secure private key storage, transaction signing, key rotation, and recovery procedures.
Define security controls for blockchain wallets, signing services, and cryptographic operations.
Implement governance standards for smart contract deployment and privileged blockchain operations.
Cloud & Infrastructure Security
Architect secure blockchain infrastructure hosted across AWS and Azure environments.
Implement cloud security controls covering IAM, encryption, logging, monitoring, and network segmentation.
Define hardened operating system and container configurations for blockchain workloads.
Apply CIS security benchmarks across AWS, Azure, Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker environments.
Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to implement infrastructure security and automation.
Security Governance & Risk Management
Define blockchain security architecture standards, control mappings, and technical security requirements.
Conduct security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
Identify security gaps and recommend compensating controls.
Review and approve blockchain infrastructure security designs before production implementation.
Present architecture decisions, security exceptions, and risk mitigation strategies to technology risk teams and auditors.
Ensure alignment with enterprise security policies and financial services regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity architecture, or infrastructure security.
5+ years of experience designing cloud security architecture, preferably within banking or regulated financial services.
Strong hands-on experience with blockchain infrastructure architecture and DLT security.
Practical knowledge of blockchain node operations, validator security, network segmentation, and RPC endpoint protection.
Experience with HSM, AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, cryptographic key custody, and secure transaction signing.
Strong understanding of blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Quorum/GoQuorum, or Hyperledger Besu.
Experience designing secure blockchain infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure.
Knowledge of CIS AWS Foundations, CIS Azure Foundations, Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker security benchmarks.
Strong understanding of IAM, encryption, certificate lifecycle management, network security, and security monitoring.
Experience with smart contract deployment governance and blockchain infrastructure risk management.
Ability to communicate technical security architecture and risk decisions to stakeholders, auditors, and security governance teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing enterprise blockchain solutions within banking, payments, or financial services.
Exposure to permissioned blockchain networks and enterprise DLT platforms.
Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure automation.
Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and financial services security standards.
Experience with Archer, ServiceNow GRC, or similar risk management platforms.
Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Previous experience working with JPMorgan Chase or another global financial institution.
