About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Role overview
We are looking for a techno-functional SAP analyst to own material and manufacturing
master data on a large SAP transformation programme. The scope covers material master
and its views, plant maintenance and quality objects, bills of material and routings.
This is a hands-on role between the plant business teams and the technical delivery team.
You will agree data definitions and rules with manufacturing, maintenance and quality
owners, then turn those rules into extraction, cleansing, mapping and load logic.
The data is structured and interdependent, so the role suits someone who understands
how a BOM, a routing and a material view hang together, and what breaks downstream
when one of them is wrong.
Key responsibilities
• Own material and manufacturing master data objects end to end: material master
views, equipment and functional locations, maintenance plans, inspection plans and
characteristics, BOMs and routings.
• Define field-level standards, numbering conventions and validation rules with plant,
maintenance and quality data owners.
• Run data migration cycles: extraction, profiling, cleansing, mapping, mock loads,
reconciliation and cutover support.
• Handle the dependencies between objects so BOMs, routings and material views
load in the right sequence and reconcile afterwards.
• Analyse legacy data quality, quantify defects by plant, and drive remediation before
each load.
• Design governance controls: ownership by object and plant, approval paths,
stewardship routines and quality KPIs.
• Write functional specifications for load programmes and reports, and test them with
the technical team.
• Resolve defects in SIT, UAT and hypercare, and feed root causes back into the rules.
• Support plant key users through rollout so the standards hold after go-live.
Required skills and experience
• Minimum 5 years in a techno-functional SAP role, with master data as the core of the
work.
• Hands-on material master experience across the main views, including MRP,
purchasing, sales, accounting, costing and warehouse.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and maintenance objects: BOMs, routings or
task lists, work centres, equipment, functional locations, inspection plans and QM
characteristics.
• Proven SAP data migration delivery across at least one full cycle, from legacy
extraction to post-load reconciliation.
• Data management practice: profiling, cleansing, de-duplication, mapping rules and
defect tracking.
• Data governance experience: standards, ownership, approval workflows and data
quality reporting.
• Comfortable writing functional specifications and working directly with ABAP or
technical counterparts.
• Strong Excel or SQL skills for analysing large data sets independently.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Spanish or Polish is useful but not required.
Preferred
• S/4HANA migration experience, including the material master changes that come
with it.
• Exposure to SAP MDG or a comparable master data tool, and to request-driven
change processes.
• Familiarity with migration tooling such as the SAP Migration Cockpit, LSMW,
LTMC/LTMOM, BODS or Syniti.
• A manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceutical or process industry background,
where PM and QM data carries compliance weight.
• Experience on a multi-plant or multi-country rollout, where rules differ by site.
• Background in a consulting or systems integrator environment.
Location and timeline
Candidates should be based in Europe, with Spain or Warsaw preferred, and able to work
European business hours. The start is ASAP, so availability inside four weeks is a screening
criterion.
