About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to work on high-scale payment systems and build reliable, high-throughput applications. The role involves designing large-scale systems, solving complex technical problems, leveraging infrastructure effectively, and taking ownership of production systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design large-scale systems with high complexity to support high-throughput applications.
Understand and leverage infrastructure to solve large-scale technical problems.
Develop tools and contribute to open-source projects wherever possible.
Apply root-cause problem solving to technical challenges.
Take production ownership and support the code developed.
Required Skills and Experience
4+ years of professional experience using Java, or excellent programming skills in languages such as Scala, Python, or Go.
Interest and ability to learn other programming languages as needed.
Experience with NoSQL databases and distributed cache.
Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
In-depth understanding of concurrency and distributed computing.
Experience in SaaS platform development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing platform components such as RESTful APIs, Pub/Sub systems, and database clients.
Experience with AWS services.
Experience developing systems in finance, payment, or similar industries.
Experience in system design and developing web systems handling massive transaction volumes or requiring scalability.
Experience working with microservices.
Experience leveraging AI/LLM-based tools in daily workflows, including code development, reviews, testing, debugging, and documentation, while ensuring human oversight, judgment, and accountability.
