Data Architect

Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Data Architect at MBA USP FMVZ. The Data Architect will design and maintain the organization’s data architecture, ensuring that data structures support current and future analytical, reporting, and operational needs. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with stakeholders to understand data requirements, defining data standards, and documenting data flows across systems. The role involves overseeing data integration processes, supporting the development and optimization of data warehouses, and ensuring that data solutions align with governance and compliance requirements. The Data Architect will also provide guidance to technical teams on best practices, troubleshoot data-related issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of the data ecosystem.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Data Architecture and Data Modeling to design scalable, consistent, and secure data structures.
Experience with Data Governance practices to define data standards, policies, and stewardship processes.
Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) and Data Warehousing to build and maintain reliable data pipelines and repositories.
Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and modern data platforms or cloud data services.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to data quality and security.
Experience in academic, research, or professional services environments is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
