Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial and accounting activities for Suresh Millgin Stores. This full-time, on-site role is based in Surat and includes tasks such as maintaining ledgers, recording daily transactions, preparing invoices, reconciling bank and vendor accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end closing. The role will involve preparing financial reports, assisting with budgeting, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations. The Accountant will also coordinate with internal teams and external parties, respond to accounting queries, and help improve financial processes and controls. Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to meet deadlines in a retail environment are essential.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including ledger maintenance, journal entry posting, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet tools, with the ability to work with ERP or retail inventory and billing systems.
Candidates should possess knowledge of relevant tax rules, invoicing requirements, and compliance with local financial regulations.
Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to interpret financial data and support budgeting and forecasting.
Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Candidates should possess high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling financial information.
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications are an advantage.
Prior experience in retail, wholesale, or a similar business environment in Surat or nearby regions will be considered beneficial.
