Role Description The Plumbing Designer role at ES DESIGN CENTER is a full-time remote position responsible for developing detailed plumbing system designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing construction drawings, performing layouts for domestic water, sanitary, storm, and special piping systems, and coordinating plumbing designs with architectural and structural plans. The role involves collaborating with project managers and other discipline designers, applying relevant codes and standards, and integrating fire protection and HVAC considerations where appropriate. The Plumbing Designer will review design documents for accuracy, respond to design-related inquiries, and support updates and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Plumbing Design and Plumbing, with the ability to develop practical, code-compliant system layouts.
Ability to produce and interpret Construction Drawings, including plans, sections, and details for building systems.
Knowledge of Fire Protection design principles and coordination with plumbing systems.
Understanding of HVAC Design concepts and how mechanical systems interface with plumbing and fire protection.
Proficiency with CAD/BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and standard design tools.
Familiarity with relevant building codes, plumbing codes, and industry standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, building systems engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience in plumbing or building systems design within a consulting or construction environment is beneficial.
