Codistry is a tech startup building AI-focused developer and automation tools for a global audience. We’re building products that help people create software and automate work, with a strong focus on quality, usability, and reliability.
We’re looking for an experienced engineer who is excited about building with AI and has the technical ability to turn ambitious ideas into excellent products.
The Role
You’ll take full ownership of development across the entire stack, from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
You must use AI coding tools to write 100% of your code.
You must also have the technical depth to understand what they produce, evaluate their approach, identify problems, and take responsibility for the result.
You should be able to explain how the software works, why particular decisions were made, and whether it is ready to ship. That requires strong engineering fundamentals, careful review, and sound judgment.
You’ll work directly with the founding team, with significant input into both product and technical decisions.
What You’ll Do
Own development from initial requirements through release and ongoing operation.
Build across the full stack, including user interfaces, backend services, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
Direct AI coding tools with clear requirements, appropriate context, and structured feedback.
Review generated code, investigate failures, and resolve problems throughout the system.
Build testing and verification into the development process, covering functionality, security, performance, and reliability.
Deliver polished products, paying attention to usability, error handling, and the details that affect everyday use.
Keep systems understandable and maintainable, with clear architecture and useful documentation.
Work with the founding team to clarify priorities, assess tradeoffs, and deliver improvements.
Who You Are
An experienced software engineer with a track record of shipping and maintaining production software.
Already working with AI coding tools and committed to a fully AI-first development workflow.
Technically strong enough to read, understand, debug, and evaluate the code AI produces.
Comfortable working across the entire stack and understanding how its components fit together.
Able to recognize when a generated solution is incorrect, insecure, unnecessarily complex, or poorly suited to the problem.
Highly attentive to product quality, with strong standards for both the user experience and the underlying engineering.
Independent and accountable, able to take an idea through to a working, tested, deployed product.
Curious, quick to learn, and comfortable explaining your decisions and challenging an approach when needed.
Experience with a specific language or framework is not required.
However, strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to understand unfamiliar technologies are essential.
