Role Description
The Senior Content Writer will take ownership of developing, reviewing and refining educational content for Sapience Publications' print and digital learning resources.
The role involves working closely with academic, editorial and design teams to develop age-appropriate, engaging and curriculum-aligned content for early learning and primary education. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining academic accuracy, editorial consistency and quality throughout the content development process, from initial research and planning to final manuscript approval.
The role also involves guiding junior writers, coordinating multiple projects and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality educational materials.
Key Responsibilities
1. Educational Content Development
Develop and refine content for textbooks, workbooks, worksheets, activity books, teacher manuals and assessment materials.
Create engaging, age-appropriate learning activities, explanations, exercises and instructional content.
Contribute to the development of supplementary learning resources and digital educational content.
2. Curriculum Research and Alignment
Research subject matter and organise content according to defined learning objectives.
Ensure content is developmentally appropriate and aligned with applicable curriculum frameworks, including relevant NCERT guidelines and learning outcomes.
Maintain subject accuracy, conceptual clarity and consistency across books and learning resources.
3. Editing and Quality Assurance
Review, edit and proofread manuscripts for grammar, language, factual accuracy, clarity and consistency.
Identify content gaps, errors, repetition and inconsistencies before finalisation.
Review page layouts, illustrations, exercises and answer keys in coordination with the relevant teams.
4. Project Planning and Coordination
Manage multiple content development projects and meet agreed deadlines.
Coordinate with academic, editorial, design and illustration teams throughout the publishing process.
Maintain content documentation, revision records and quality-checking procedures.
5. Team Guidance and Collaboration
Guide and review the work of junior content writers.
Provide constructive feedback to improve writing quality, accuracy and productivity.
Contribute ideas to strengthen curriculum resources, teaching methodologies and overall content quality.
6. Supporting Content and Communication
Assist in developing educational presentations, catalogues, brochures, product descriptions, video scripts and other supporting content when required.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Relevant experience in educational content writing, curriculum development, textbook publishing or academic content development.
Experience developing educational materials for preschool, kindergarten or primary grades will be an advantage.
Familiarity with CBSE, State Board curricula, NCERT frameworks and learning outcomes.
Strong English writing, editing, proofreading and research skills.
Ability to simplify concepts and develop clear, engaging and age-appropriate learning materials.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
Ability to work collaboratively with academic and creative teams and provide guidance to junior writers.
A proactive approach to problem-solving, content quality and continuous improvement.
Candidates with relevant educational publishing or curriculum-development experience are encouraged to apply.
