About us
Academia United is an early-stage technology company building digital products for the international education and language travel industry.
We are a bootstrapped startup that has not raised external investment yet, and we are building our products with a strong focus on sustainable growth, commercial value, and long-term potential. We operate with a lean team, move quickly, and believe in taking ownership rather than adding unnecessary processes.
We are now looking for a hands-on Senior Product Lead to work directly with our founder and development team, helping turn our product vision into finished, commercially successful products.
The product
B2B SaaS Platform
Our main product is a platform combining bookings, CRM, payments, automation, and revenue-generation tools for education agencies and language schools worldwide.
The role
Until now, much of the product vision and development direction has been driven directly by our founder. We are looking for someone who can take that vision and independently drive product execution on a daily basis.
You should be comfortable working in a startup environment where not everything is fully defined, priorities can evolve, and people are expected to solve problems rather than wait for instructions.
You will turn ideas, business needs, and rough workflows into:
Clear user journeys and product flows
Practical product requirements and specifications
Prioritised development tasks
Intuitive UX improvements
Well-tested, finished functionality
Product decisions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and commercial outcomes
You will work closely with developers, resolve day-to-day product questions, challenge unnecessary complexity, and help the team move faster without creating bureaucracy.
What we are looking for
5+ years of product management or product leadership experience
Strong experience with SaaS platforms, marketplaces, or other complex digital products
Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment
Excellent UX judgement and a strong understanding of user behaviour
Experience working directly with developers and translating business needs into actionable tasks
Strong commercial thinking and an understanding of how product decisions influence revenue
The ability to make decisions independently and take responsibility for outcomes
Comfort working with limited resources and evolving priorities
Excellent English communication skills
A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability
Experience in travel-tech, booking platforms, CRM, payments, or EdTech would be an advantage.

You should be comfortable using AI tools for research, product specifications, prototyping, QA, documentation, workflow analysis, and problem-solving. We value people who use technology to increase their productivity, improve decision-making, and accelerate delivery.
This is not a traditional Product Manager role
We are not looking for someone whose main responsibility is managing Jira, organising meetings, or waiting for instructions.
We need someone who can understand the bigger picture, make practical decisions, work directly with developers, and take ownership from the initial idea through to delivery.
As an early-stage, bootstrapped company, we value people who are resourceful, commercially minded, and comfortable making meaningful progress without large teams, extensive budgets, or layers of management.
You will have direct access to the founder, significant influence over product decisions, and the opportunity to shape products with international reach.
