The position calls for strong technical accounting knowledge, multi-jurisdictional compliance experience, and the discretion and judgment expected when handling the financial affairs of a private wealth platform.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual books closure process for the family office and its holding entities, ensuring timely and accurate postings, reconciliations, and accruals.
Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with Indian GAAP/Ind AS, US GAAP, and Singapore FRS/SFRS(I), as applicable to each entity.
Prepare and review Management Information System (MIS) reports, consolidated family wealth dashboards, variance analysis, and cash flow reports for principals and senior stakeholders.
Manage income tax compliance in India, the US, and Singapore, including returns, advance tax, tax provisioning, and coordination with tax advisors.
Ensure compliance with GST, Provident Fund (PF), and Employee State Insurance (ESI) requirements for the office and any operating entities, including filings, reconciliations, and timely payments.
Oversee AIF compliance requirements, including fund accounting review, capital account statements, NAV computation, and regulatory reporting to SEBI and other bodies, for AIF commitments held by the family.
Prepare and review investor reporting packs, capital call and distribution tracking, and periodic updates on fund performance in line with fund documentation.
Coordinate statutory, internal, and IT audits, including audit schedules, responses to queries, and closure of observations.
Review internal controls and processes across the family office and its entities, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to financial governance and IT general controls.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning, including household and family expenditure planning in coordination with principals.
Manage relationships with banks, custodians, fund managers, auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as required.
Maintain strict confidentiality over family financial affairs and ensure appropriate access controls over sensitive financial data.
Drive process automation and efficiency improvements using Excel, Power BI or similar tools, and AI-based tools for reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA), or Semi-qualified CA (CA Inter/CA Final pass candidates), or MBA (Finance)/equivalent with 6 to 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in books closure, preparation and review of financial statements, and MIS reporting.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act (India), with working exposure to US federal and state tax compliance and Singapore corporate tax.
Working knowledge of GST, PF, and ESI compliance.
Hands-on exposure to AIF structures, fund accounting, compliance requirements, and investor reporting.
Experience preparing financial statements under US GAAP and Singapore accounting standards (SFRS/SFRS(I)), in addition to Indian GAAP/Ind AS.
Experience handling statutory audits, internal audits, and IT audits.
Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced: pivot tables, lookups, macros preferred), MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
Practical use of AI tools for productivity, data analysis, and report preparation.
Preferred Attributes
Prior experience in a family office, private wealth management, or high-net-worth advisory environment.
Experience working with cross-border entities or multi-jurisdiction group structures.
Exposure to ERP and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, Zoho Books, or similar).
Strong communication skills and ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Discretion, integrity, and a high level of ownership, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
