Role Description The Technical Management Director is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of AI and software projects across multiple teams. This position leads technical teams, sets priorities, and coordinates cross-functional collaboration between engineering, data science, and product stakeholders. The director will guide research and development efforts, ensure robust software development practices, and monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Day-to-day activities include reviewing technical designs, removing delivery obstacles, mentoring team members, and aligning project roadmaps with Sahara AI’s strategic goals. The role also involves implementing best practices for documentation, risk management, and continuous improvement in technical operations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Team Management and Team Leadership skills to coordinate and support cross-functional technical groups.
Candidates should possess experience in Research and Development (R&D) to drive innovation in AI solutions and evaluate emerging technologies.
Candidates should possess solid Software Development skills, including familiarity with modern development methodologies, testing, and deployment practices.
Candidates should possess proven Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex initiatives on time and within scope.
Additional beneficial qualifications include experience with AI/ML systems, MLOps, cloud platforms, and data engineering.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Prior leadership experience in a technical or product-focused organization is highly advantageous.
