Senior Business Operations Manager

About the Opportunity
The hiring organization is seeking a full-time Senior Business Operations Manager in the United States to join a high-impact team addressing critical operational and strategic priorities. In this role, the individual will drive operational outcomes across the organization and establish scalable systems to support core organizational goals.
Initial priorities include partnering with mission and engineering leaders to manage customer delivery frameworks, addressing operational capability gaps, and designing core business systems and processes. Over time, the role expands to shaping operating models for emerging growth areas, leading ad hoc strategic initiatives, and collaborating with leadership to source and integrate specialized talent.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage systems to ensure seamless delivery and execution against customer obligations and operational requirements.
Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to evaluate cost structures, identify operational efficiencies, and improve overall delivery performance.
Develop, implement, and refine internal business processes, operational tools, and AI agents across functions such as finance, recruiting, onboarding, human resources, and vendor management.
Partner with leadership to prioritize, attract, and hire senior and specialized talent for key organizational growth areas, coordinating closely with recruiting teams.
Analyze high-growth customer and mission areas to design and implement effective business and delivery models.
Lead high-priority special projects, such as evaluating major strategic investments, establishing tracking infrastructure for strategic goals, and resolving operational process bottlenecks.
Required Qualifications
Approximately 5 to 10+ years of relevant work experience, with relevant backgrounds including national security, management consulting, or high-growth startup environments.
Demonstrated experience building and executing new operational initiatives or programs.
High level of ownership and autonomy, with a proven ability to take responsibility for outcomes independently.
Strong judgment and comfort navigating ambiguity, with the ability to identify core problems and determine appropriate resource investments.
Demonstrated speed and efficiency in designing processes and tools that eliminate friction and unnecessary organizational costs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with recruiting and building teams.
Experience scaling commercial and business operations.
Experience supporting new business growth.
Experience designing AI agents for ongoing business processes.
Strong cross-functional project execution capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to quickly establish credibility with senior leaders.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $185,000 - $230,000 per year, plus equity. Individual pay within the range is determined by experience, relevant education, and training.
