Power BI, Sr. (WFH)

About the Role
Winigent is seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Report Engineer to turn business requirements into reliable, production-ready reporting solutions. This is a hands-on role for a professional who can work directly with business stakeholders, understand reporting needs, assess available data, and independently manage report development from initial requirements through deployment and ongoing support.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, semantic models, and report performance optimization. They should also be comfortable identifying gaps in existing data or models, coordinating with technical teams to address them, and collaborating with India-based development teams.
Key Responsibilities
•Work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into clear reporting specifications.
•Assess reporting requirements against available data and existing Power BI semantic models.
•Design, develop, validate, and deploy production-ready Power BI reports.
•Build reports using existing semantic models while identifying data or model gaps that may affect reporting outcomes.
•Use DAX and Power Query/M to support reporting logic, data preparation, and analysis.
•Manage reporting solutions through Power BI Service, including role-level security (RLS) and deployment pipelines.
•Develop paginated reports where required.
•Optimize report performance, usability, and reliability.
•Coordinate with technical teams to resolve data, modeling, and reporting issues.
•Partner with India-based development teams to support effective delivery and collaboration.
•Take end-to-end ownership of report design, validation, deployment, user training, and ongoing support.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
•5–10 years of experience in business intelligence (BI) or reporting.
•Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including report development and administration within Power BI Service.
•Strong experience with DAX and Power Query/M.
•Experience with role-level security (RLS), deployment pipelines, and paginated reports.
•Knowledge of Power BI performance optimization techniques.
•Experience developing reports against existing Power BI semantic models.
•Strong stakeholder-facing skills, including requirements gathering and translating business needs into reporting solutions.
•Ability to identify gaps in data or semantic models and coordinate with technical teams to resolve them.
•Experience managing the reporting lifecycle from requirements and design through deployment, training, and support.
•Experience working with India-based development teams.
Location Preferences
This is a full-time, US-based opportunity. Candidates in the greater Seattle area, particularly the Eastside, are preferred. Exceptional remote candidates located elsewhere in the United States may also be considered.
