Role Description The Construction Site Supervisor will oversee daily site operations to ensure that work is carried out safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards and project specifications. This full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area includes coordinating workers and subcontractors, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress throughout the day. The supervisor will conduct site inspections, verify materials and workmanship, and ensure compliance with construction safety protocols and local regulations. Responsibilities also include maintaining site documentation, reporting issues to project management, resolving on-site challenges, and communicating clearly with engineers, contractors, and clients. The role requires proactive problem-solving, adherence to project timelines, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
Strong supervisory skills and experience in site supervision for building or infrastructure projects.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with workers, contractors, engineers, and clients.
Hands-on experience with site inspection, quality checks, and adherence to project specifications.
Solid understanding of construction safety standards and ability to enforce safety procedures on site.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and basic project scheduling.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents.
Minimum of a diploma or degree in civil engineering or a related field; relevant certifications in site management or safety are an advantage.
Previous experience as a site supervisor or similar role in the construction industry, preferably within urban projects.
Proven ability to work on-site full time, manage multiple tasks, and make timely decisions under pressure.
