Role Description The Mining Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, responsible for overseeing a 10 people team who maintains day-to-day mining operations and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant extraction activities. The role involves developing and implementing mine plans, coordinating with engineering and geology teams, monitoring production targets, and optimizing resource utilization. The Mining Manager will manage budgets, supervise site personnel, enforce safety protocols, and ensure adherence to regulatory and environmental requirements. This position also includes preparing operational reports, supporting long-term planning, and collaborating with senior management on project timelines and performance goals.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Mine Planning and Mining Engineering to design, implement, and optimize mine operations.
Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Mine Safety to establish and enforce safety standards, procedures, and training.
Candidates should possess proficiency in Budgeting to manage operational costs, resource allocation, and financial planning for mining projects.
Candidates should possess a sound understanding of Geology to assess ore bodies, support exploration activities, and guide extraction strategies.
Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field; advanced certifications in mine management or safety are an advantage.
Demonstrated experience in managing mining operations, leading on-site teams, and working with regulatory bodies and environmental agencies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with effective communication and leadership skills.
Familiarity with mining software, production reporting tools, and applicable local and national mining regulations.
