About The Role
As a Full Stack Developer at Zoom, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable features and services that reach millions of users worldwide. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across the entire technology stack, from backend engineering and API development to frontend interfaces and applied AI solutions. You will be responsible for owning features end-to-end, ensuring performance, security, and reliability, while collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and infrastructure engineers. This hybrid role requires on-site presence 2–3 days per week at our San Jose, CA office, with remote arrangements not available. You will be part of a talented team that values technical rigor, innovation, and a customer-centric approach to problem-solving, contributing to the evolution of Zoom’s platform and its impact on how people connect and collaborate globally.
Qualifications
5–8 years of professional software development experience with proven full stack expertise
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development
Experience building frontend applications using React, Angular, JavaScript, or TypeScript
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture
Hands-on experience with SQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
Working knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Practical experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, OAuth2, RBAC, and application security fundamentals
Solid understanding of system design, distributed systems, scalability principles, and engineering best practices
Ability to work independently, drive features from conception to deployment, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scalable full stack applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, modern frontend frameworks, REST, and GraphQL APIs
Design and implement robust backend services with a focus on performance, security, and long-term reliability
Build and integrate AI and LLM-based solutions, including AI agents, RAG pipelines, tool calling, and prompt workflows, with knowledge of MCP
Take ownership of features from initial design through testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across frontend, backend, APIs, and database layers to ensure seamless user experiences
Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar to enhance productivity and code quality
Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver impactful features that improve user connectivity and collaboration
