IT Systems Administrator

Role Description The IT Systems Administrator at Mining Daily 24 will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, network systems, and user devices. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring system performance, performing routine updates and backups, administering user accounts and permissions, and ensuring secure, reliable access to internal tools and platforms. The role also involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating with vendors or hosting providers when needed, and implementing best practices for cybersecurity and data protection. This is a part-time, remote role that requires consistent communication with team members and proactive management of IT resources to support a fully digital news environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including server management, user account administration, and routine maintenance.
Candidates should possess Network Administration skills, including configuration, monitoring, and optimization of network connectivity and security.
Candidates should possess Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, resolve, and document hardware, software, and access issues for remote users.
Candidates should possess broad Information Technology knowledge, including familiarity with cloud services, security best practices, and backup and recovery procedures.
Relevant experience with remote work environments, digital media or online publishing platforms is beneficial.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity are required.
A degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
