Role Description The General Manager role at Sublaxmi Steel is a full-time, on-site position based in Chandigarh, India. The General Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, including production planning, supply chain coordination, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the business. This role involves managing budgets, monitoring key performance indicators, and implementing policies that support safety, compliance, and cost optimization. The General Manager will lead and mentor cross-functional teams, support talent development, and foster a collaborative work culture aligned with company values. The role also includes maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders, while driving strategic initiatives to support growth and long-term profitability.
Qualifications
Strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills, with experience supervising diverse operational and administrative teams.
Proven ability in operations management, including production planning, process improvement, and inventory or supply chain oversight.
Solid business acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and performance monitoring to support data-driven decision-making.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Experience in manufacturing, steel, or related industrial sectors is highly beneficial, with understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and resolve operational issues promptly.
Proficiency with common business software and ERP or production management systems is preferred.
