Role Description The Director of Platform Engineering is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the design, development, and evolution of CMG Nexus’s core technology platforms. This role oversees engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and reliable systems that support digital products, partnerships, and new ventures. Day-to-day activities include defining platform architecture, setting technical standards, prioritizing engineering initiatives, and collaborating with product and business stakeholders to align platform capabilities with strategic goals. The Director will manage project roadmaps, monitor delivery timelines, optimize engineering processes, and ensure high-quality software development practices. This role also involves mentoring team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and evaluating emerging technologies that can enhance CMG Nexus’s platform strategy.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in Team Management and Team Leadership, including building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
Strong background in Project Management, with a track record of delivering complex technical initiatives on time and within scope.
Hands-on expertise in Software Development, with deep knowledge of modern architectures, cloud platforms, APIs, and engineering best practices.
Experience in Product Management or close collaboration with product teams, translating business needs into platform features and technical requirements.
Proven ability to work effectively in remote, distributed environments, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic mindset and ability to define long-term platform vision, roadmaps, and technical direction in alignment with business goals.
Background in leading platform or infrastructure engineering organizations; experience in startups or high-growth environments is a plus.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
