Engineering Manager

Job Description
Responsibilities: - Architect AI-integrated enterprise systems and workflows. - Build agentic/autonomous systems that interact with business platforms and execute governed actions. - Design high-scale distributed and event-driven systems (Kafka or similar). - Work on complex architectures: Event Sourcing, CQRS, DDD, Hexagonal. Requirements: - Startup experience: Must have banking/payments/lending/insurance domain knowledge. - Bangalore and Mumbai | High Budget (Top of Market). - 10+ years of experience as an engineer building AI-powered, agentic systems at scale for enterprise use cases. - Experience in banking / payments / lending / insurance domains. - Strong backend expertise (Java / Kotlin preferred). - Deep understanding of data consistency, concurrency, and transactions. - Exposure to AI/ML integrations + agent-based systems. - Ability to thrive in startup environments with high ownership. - Proven experience as an engineering manager/tech lead transitioning to EM. - Strong background in product-based companies or early-stage startups (must-have). - Experience building and scaling backend or full-stack systems. - Ability to drive architecture, execution, and team ownership end-to-end. - Strong focus on delivery, quality, and engineering culture. - Experience managing and mentoring high-performance teams. Good to Have: - Ledger/state-replay systems. - Temporal / workflow orchestration. - Rule engines/policy systems. - Cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure), SaaS, multi-tenancy. - Zero-downtime migrations and schema evolution.
