Responsibilities
The Senior Insurance Adjuster (Workers' Compensation) is a key technical role responsible for managing a high-volume caseload (120–140 open files across 5–10 accounts) of complex indemnity claims. Operating as an independent desk manager, the adjuster conducts claim investigations, handles subrogation, evaluates carrier reportability, and leads strategic defense discussions on litigated files.
This role requires deep technical expertise in Arizona Workers' Compensation regulations and statutory disability/impairment definitions. The adjuster operates in a technology-forward environment—utilizing proprietary systems with integrated AI tools to automate medical and file summaries—while maintaining precise execution of operational KPIs (reserving, timely contact, plan-of-action formulation, and file closure). Designed for an experienced direct-hire professional capable of running a desk immediately without foundational training, the position offers internal advancement opportunities across account management and regional supervision.
Manage a caseload of 120–140 open indemnity files and 5–10 accounts (balancing small-volume and large accounts).
Conduct investigations, handle subrogation, determine carrier reportability, and drive defense conversations on litigated files.
Run an active desk independently with minimal oversight; inherit backlog files via account reallocation.
Validate and verify AI-generated claim and medical summaries within proprietary systems to streamline administration.
Meet core operational KPIs including first contacts, reserving, bill payments, correspondence attachments, client timeliness, plans of action, return-to-work rates, and file closures.
Collaborate with case managers to manage claims, medical plans, and pricing across key accounts (e.g., restaurants, schools).
Required Skills
3 to 5 years of senior/experienced indemnity desk management experience.
Active Arizona Insurance Adjuster license.
Technical knowledge of Arizona Industrial Commission form updates (such as Forms 104 and 108) and strict submission timelines.
Working knowledge of statutory definitions including Temporary Total Disability (TTD), Permanent Total Disability (PTD), and New Medical Impairment.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience utilizing proprietary management systems and AI-assisted summary tools.
Note: Strong preference against candidates coming directly from standard insurance carriers, due to a lack of capacity to train on basic indemnity skills.
Schedule/Shift
Core working hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM Arizona Time (regardless of candidate's local time zone).
Work arrangement
